There is nothing going on here except to show off the power of N.G.S 2. There is no post-work whatsoever- just the NGS 2 shaders and a brilliant function that audioslave74 demonstrated in a YouTube tutorial on ToneMapping which until he uploaded it I didn't even know was possible. Please look at the image in full size.
I spent hours and hours yesterday tweaking Talille into a 'refined' character- collecting maps and uvs from a variety of figures and resources, before compiling an ultimate character preset- it's a proud moment when you see that custom thumbnail in your runtime.
Anyway I hope you like the results, and if you do- do yourself a favor and go purchase NGS2 whilst it's still on offer. Also please leave a comment and hit that watch button if you haven't already!

Thanks. The HDRI is a tan coloured rectangle I made with 3 white spots to represent key, fill and back lights. The hair is by OOT but can't remember the exact name off the top of my head :-D

This is an absolutely fantastic image. It has amazing realism. Its as if you picked her up from the forest, brought her to your studio, began photographing her and afterwards only the imagination could fulfill.

Really beautiful ! The only remark I can make is that the fingers of the left hand looks really red, and maybe the left knee too.

Thank you. Yes it's an exaggeration of the texture caused by the lighting. In different lights it's not so bad.

Thank you! I create them in Daz3D. It's a free program but you have to pay for the content :-D There are some freebies knocking around to get you started though. Once you know enough about what you're doing, you can start making your own characters like I did here, and adapting other peoples materials.

I like her eyes and her nipples. I wonder why she has the color towards orange...

Anagenessis 2 may be a little helpful for extreme close-ups. For anything else that has more distance to the camera it is worthless. I may be wrong, but whenever I see a picture that used Anagenessis, I don´t see the need to buy it (though I have it in my wishlist). The promo pictures at DAZ are awesome, but I didn´t see something that comes even close to those yet.

Nice pose, and beautiful character. Well done!

The orange tint is in the SSS settings which gets exaggerated by a combination of things in the scene, lighting, tone mapping etc- but I wanted the flaws in the skin to come through for realism- otherwise you might as well wrap everyone in Aiko's skin and be done with it.
I think NGS is unabashedly for closeups or large renders, there are already a glut of images on DA and the DAZ forums doing side-by-side comparisons with and without and the difference is stunning. Not everyone goes for the realism style though, so you're right it's not going to be useful for everyone.

Thank you :-D

Oh I see, you did the texture settings this way so that the color is like that.

Yeah, absolutely right, in really near close-ups you can see the pores of the skin, and the tone of the skin is somehow "fresher" if I can say it this way. Really good for portraits, or as you said large renders. :)

Sort of. I used extreme-closeup freckles which added the golden tinge and freckles. Under normal lighting I wouldn't want that dark orange hue, but different lights produce different results. But yes I did want realism and not a 'perfect' skin.
Exactly, it's all in what you use it for. :-D
